Did you know that…

Dec 9, 2015

…Traditional, analog surveillance systems record their video in 20x less the resolution of a true, high definition, 1080p recording surveillance system? Here’s the math for those techies that like to see it.

Traditional analog systems record their images at a resolution called CIF (Common Intermediate Format) resolution which is 352 x 288 pixels. 352 x 288 = 101,376 total pixels per image frame.

Today’s 1080p High Definition systems record their images at 1080p HD resolution which is at 1920 x 1080 pixels. 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 total pixels per image frame.

The difference in image quality is truly night and day. Using today’s technology, the amount of cameras needed to cover an area effectively is drastically reduced and we can truly say, that facial recognition is now viable and affordable.
